A Balloon (or Lunardi) hat, this style was debuted in 1784 to commemorate Vicenzo Lunardi's flight in a hot air balloon. My "Emma" was inspired by Kate Beckensdale's "Emma" and features an oversized crown, and lacy brim. Encircled with ribbon, a jaunty bow with coordinating flowers anchors two feathers across the front. Lace can be optional; please specify at checkout if you do not wish to have it added.
I love using taffeta, shantung and dupioni for this hat. Exact fabric content will vary depending on color chosen. I am currently using the woven paper/polyester hat base shown in the first image. View the other images for trimming ideas.
