These plain bonnets (ribbon ties but no other trim) are such fun to decorate and would be great for any Dickens/Christmas activities you might have planned. The wide brim was popular during the late Regency (see the drawing by Ingres, 1823) and early Victorian era (think A Christmas Carol, published in 1843, which is the inspiration for many caroling ensembles and Dickens Fairs.)
