This hat was commissioned for a wedding reception held at a Racetrack in Virginia. The bride, all in white, and the groom in perfect Ascot Race Day attire looked smashing. The hat is a white top hat, accented with white ostrich plumes and yards of tulle which does double duty as hatband and veil and is caught in a large pouf at the back. |
![]() Here is a "Kitty" made up for a Regency Themed Wedding. The fabric was satin and moire with lace and sheer ribbon accents. The use of sumptious fabric and extra trim made it a perfect confection for a wedding day accessory. |
The bonnet pictured here is an entirely cloth creation, based on early Puritan designs. It has a gathered neck ruffle and pleated brim. The brim is lined in lace to give the appearance of a cap worn underneath. Satin ribbon ties. |
![]() This reticule was designed to match one carried by Marianne Dashwood in S&S2. The cone shaped purse is decorated with lace and a tassel. It uses a pearl button and satin cord catch. Click on the picture for a close up view of the details. |
These bridal veils were copied from those worn in the films. There are many period weddings these days and the dresses are gorgeous, but the accessories can be difficult to find. |
![]() A recent creation based on a hat from "Titanic". My client had some beautiful materials saved up that I was able to use, including an exotic feather, gorgeous netting and a Mother-of-Pearl buckle. The hat features cream satin and sheer poufs and black lace both trimming the crown and brim. A Pearl and Jet hatpin was created to complete the look. |
Another of my clients loved Kate Winslet's 'Boarding Hat' from Titanic. It took several months, but finally we were able to locate all the necessary components. I never realized how difficult it would be to try and locate plum striped fabric! Despite it all, I think the effort was well worth it. |
![]() This set was an order I received to be worn at Jane Austen Week, in Madison, WI. It is composed of an Emma, Elinor, Lizzy and a reticule all made to match the outfit of the young lady attending. While at the conference, my client was commended by a representative from the Art Institute in Chicago for the authenticity of her accessories! A picture can be found on my "Comments" page. |
![]() This unique piece was probably my most challenging yet. It is made of red and black felt, completely hand sewn. My customer is an illustrator who wished to dress as her character, a small red alien. |
